Mitchelmore Engineering Company (Meco) was contracted by the Public Works & Government Services Canada (PWGSC) to administer the construction of a Control Weir & Access Road, Halifax International Airport, Enfield, NS
On behalf of Public Works & Government Services Canada (PWGSC), Mitchelmore Engineering provided contract administration and field services during construction of an access road and concrete overflow weir with earth abutments at Halifax International Airport, Enfield, Nova Scotia.
Contract administration services included part time supervision of construction progress, weekly reports, verification of performance, approval of shop drawings, approval of progress claims, certification of substantial and final completion.
Field services included performing a geotechnical assessment of embankment soil parameters, road construction and drainage provisions. Field services also included concrete tests for temperature, air content and slump, as well as strength, in-situ soil compaction and moisture control, reinforcement and formwork inspection and verification of performance of environmental controls.
