Meco (Mitchelmore Engineering Company) was contracted by Newfoundland Power (NFP) to perform Dam Safety Reviews (DSR’s) at the Tors Cove / Rocky Pond and Cape Broyle / Horse Chops Hydroelectric Developments. NFP has an annual DSR program in accordance with the Canadian Dam Association (CDA) Dam Safety Guidelines, 1999 for hydraulic structures that it manages.
NFP’s 2003 DSR program included eight (8) embankment dams, five (5) concrete spillway structures for review.
