Mitchelmore Engineering Company (Meco) was contracted by the Halifax Regional Water Commission (HRWC), to complete Emergency Preparedness Plans (EPP's) for Lake Major Dam, Pockwock Dam, Chain Lake Dam, and Lake Lamont Dam. Inundation maps for all four dams were also completed.
The Emergency Preparedness Plans include descriptions of the facilities, outlined reponsibilities of individuals in the event of an emergency and provided mitigation measures for emergency situations.
The inundation maps provide a pictoral of inundated streets and houses in the downstream effected areas, and contain an evacuation plan for the areas.
